SCHOOL OF GOLF

Inspiring The Next Generation of Golfers

Welcome to the website of Royal Troon’s School of Golf. Providing a continuous, sustainable golfing pathway from School to Golf Club for children of all abilities from age 5+.

The straightforward aim of our junior initiative is to attract young kids into golf and inspire the next generation of golfers in Troon and the surrounding areas.
The School of Golf will provide a safe and fun environment for children to develop their golfing skills, meet friends, and take advantage of all the educational, health and wellbeing benefits that golf brings. Members will have restricted access to the Practice Ground and the Craigend and Portland Courses on agreed days and times dependent on ability and level of participation. Members would qualify for access to more facilities as they develop through the stages with the ultimate aim being to gain a full handicap and graduate to a Junior Membership.

Coaching

Fun and Informative

Our structured coaching at The School of Golf utilises best practices from both the Professional Golfers' Association and Scottish Golf. This produces, in our opinion, the best children's golfing experience available at the present time. Our highly experienced and enthusiastic team of PGA Professionals will ensure your young golfer has a fun, informative and educational time developing their game of golf on some of the best facilities around.

Summer Camps

Our Summer Camps are a great way to progress your child's golf through the long Summer Holidays. These are structured and fun courses that last for 5 consecutive days and include 10 hours of coaching, fun competitions, team building and games.
Due to the popularity of the Camps we would advise to book well in advance to avoid disappointment.

Getting Children in to Golf

Many voluntary hours have been spent, by our team of PGA Professionals, at the local Primary Schools in Troon. Through 2017 and 2018 over 500 voluntary hours were given by Royal Troon's School of Golf, coaching over 5000 pupils in the local area. This great work continues and over the next few years every school in Troon will have the opportunity to experience golf through both in-curriculum and after-school sessions. This has been made fully sustainable with the help of funding from the Children's Golf Trust, a charity set up to provide free coaching and after schools clubs for all children at local Primary Schools.
